Alchemist of Goal – A film around Jaan Kross tells a personal story of one man, that characterises a whole generation in Estonia. This film is about the dreams of a man, his destiny and how it can lead one to become a writer. The eye of a writer notices things that remain unseen by others. His memory recreates a reality that many would happily forget. Jaan Kross (1920-2007) is the grand old man of contemporary Estonian literature. His novels represent important historical figures from Estonian cultural history, and have enjoyed international recognition. He has published 33 books, and his works have been translated into twenty languages.
